Making Vocabulary Crosswords.
Choose some vocabulary that you wish to review and then make a crossword.
I usually choose vocabulary the students met in one particular theme but you could choose any vocabulary you would like your students to review.
I use the free online PuzzleMaker to make my crosswords although you can use your own software / favourite website.

How to Use Vocabulary Crosswords. (S = Student)
- Give half the Ss the A cross word and the other half the B crossword. Ss in their groups (A and B) quickly review the vocabulary.
They can use dictionaries, refer to their notes, check with their friends, or ask the teacher.
Make sure that they don't speak too loudly - the other group may overhear the vocabulary that they're asking about. - Now pair a student with an A crossword and a student with a B crossword together.
They will need to ask each other to explain the words they're missing from their crossword.
Example : Can you give me a hint for 1 down please ?
