Attack the Whiteboard Game.
- A quick and fun game to practice asking questions.
- Works well as a warm up.
Materials.
- A whiteboard (surprise, surprise).
- A soft toy or a soft ball. Screwed-up paper balls are ok too.
Preparation.
- Draw a 3x3 grid on the whiteboard.
- Put some question prompts in each "cell" of the grid.

How to Play (S = Student).
- Ask one S to ATTACK (throw the ball at) the whiteboard!
- If S hits the "Why ?" cell, S asks someone a "Why" question.
- If S hits the "What ?" cell, S asks someone a "What" question.
- If S hits the "?" cell, S gets a free question - anything is ok.
- If S hits the whiteboard, but outside of the grid - 2 free questions.
- If S misses the whiteboard completely, 3 free questions.
Variations.
- Ask Ss to fill the grid with question prompts.
- Ask Ss to fill the grid with sentence prompts.
- Change the number of "free question" cells.
- Make the grid larger (4x4), (5x5).
- Turn it into a tic-tac-toe or noughts-and-crosses competition.
